A home for tastemakers, raconteurs and innovators.
The Novo Project is a website, and overall mission, that is focused on spotlighting game changers, influencers and inspiration from everyday life. It is a source and community for forward thinking, innovative design and creative pursuits.
I was born in the desert of West Texas; in a community grounded in kindness; where an endless sky spoke to the vastness of our world and possibilities.
I am a twin; Barbara has been my partner-in-crime for 30 years. As children we communicated in a language we affably refer to as “cat.” And even now, my real cat, Bernadette, is a great love. My true love, my husband Henry, gave me Bernadette knowing my affection for all things cat.
I’m happiest in the classroom teaching; no job is more demanding or intellectually stimulating. Travels to Africa and Latin America opened my eyes to the importance of living every day aware and ready to give back. I love to write, read and hike. Our National Parks truly are our “nation’s greatest treasure.” Eating and entertaining are guilty pleasures.
Working for NBC, I have met incredible people who are changing our world: the extraordinary choir teacher in inner-city Detroit, the mother who adopted children with HIV, artists who have altered the landscape of our culture. They–among many, many more– deserve to be celebrated and here at the Novo Project, they will be celebrated, and shared and appreciated. Tweeting @jennabushhager.
I hail from the small and spectacular town of Thomasville, Georgia, known for it’s roses and moonlight through the pines. I am enchanted by the great southern tradition of storytelling in all of its forms. Some of my favorite voices are Flannery O’Connor, Carson McCullers, Shirley MacClaine and Rue McClanahan.
As an actress and former ballerina, I am happiest in the magic hours spent in a rehearsal or in a pair of fake lashes. I have performed at Second Stage Theater + Ars Nova in New York City and appeared in Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Love & Other Drugs and Hart of Dixie. I am the co-chair of UNICEF’s Next Generation in Los Angeles.
I could read blogs + books all day long and I have a fairly serious case of wanderlust. I live in a happy treehouse in Laurel Canyon with my beloved Nico and our narcissistic chihuahua Martin. Tweeting @meganferg.
